About Us
Our mission in ACAD is to bring together Cameroonians in Denmark to build a vibrant and thriving community far from home, help each other succeed, & contribute to the development of Cameroon.
To see every Cameroonian and their families living and working in Denmark become successful and well established socially and economically. We strive to be each other's keeper.
Established in 2010, the Association of Cameroonians in Denmark (ACAD) has deeply focused on SOLIDARITY as a key component of togetherness and co-existence amongst its members. Other emphasis has been RESPECT for and PROTECTION of family life and values, and involvement in CHARITABLE activities back home in Cameroon as a way of giving back to society and contributing to nation building. These exist alongside the traditional and operational areas of focus for ACAD which remains - bringing together Cameroonians living and working in Denmark, their children and affiliates to foster UNITY, INTEGRATION and DEVELOPMENT.
ACAD organises socio-cultural activities, sporting events, and intellectual or educational debates, presentations and talks on topics that are of immense importance to both its members and the wider community. Some of these topics includes: health and wellbeing, children's use of social media, professional or academic related jobs, work-life balance, parenting in contradicting cultures and many others. The association has organise annual cultural festivals, periodic football competitions and other sporting events involving all ages and genders; the national day celebration parties; Christmas celebration for kids involving 'Father Christmas' gifts distribution to children that comes up every December for both Cameroonian and other children; the ACAD Awards for meritorious services, among others. These and more will continue to form the foundational as well as operational objectives for which the association was founded.
Specifically, ACAD commits to meeting the following objectives:
- to promoting cordial co-existence among members,
- to promote the unity, integration and development of its members
- to promote Cameroonian culture and image in Denmark,
- to the development and well being of the people of Cameroon,
- to promote Cameroonian unity in ethnic and linguistic diversity
- to socialise with other peoples living in the Kingdom Denmark
- to collaborate with the Cameroon diplomatic services for Denmark,
- to facilitate members' integration in the Danish society,
- to cooperate with all Danish authorities and respect Danish laws

When recalling the history of the Association of Cameroonians in Denmark (ACAD), there are a couple of important things to note:
1. The association was officially created in the year 2010 in Copenhagen, which is the capital city of the Kingdom of Denmark.
2. It was the first ever Cameroonian association created in Denmark.
3. ACAD was created by a group of goodwill Cameroonians who saw a great need to create an environment where Cameroonians and their affiliates living and working in Demark can come together in an environment that feels like home away from home, and share their experiences in the form of opportunities and challenges that life in Denmark presents to them.
In the usual community spirit, ACAD was founded on the bedrock of social gathering for unity, integration and development. Since then, the not-for-profit community organization continue to uphold a strong mission, vision and values.
We all do better when we work together. Far from home, this is our home. We're a unique family. ACAD is our one big family. We want to be able to commune together, remembering our roots while navigating the opportunities and challenges that life presents to all of us here in Denmark. Moreover, we want to engage our children in this journey because our children must know their roots, know where they as a people come from. Their identity is important. We have therefore introduced a variety of initiatives geared towards achieving this and our other objectives. But we can not do it a lone, we need your support and input. Together we are stronger. Together we achieve more.
When it comes to leading a voluntary organisation like ACAD, we understand the huge sacrifices it requires. That is why we are immensely grateful to have an exceptional team of visionary and dedicated members guiding our association. They embody innovation, passion, and unwavering commitment to driving positive change in our beloved association in particular and the community in general.

The Association of Cameroonians in Denmark (ACAD) is an apolitical, non-profit community association committed to promoting cultural co-existence among its members. ACAD works for the unity, integration and socio-economic development of its members and their families in Denmark. Our overall objective is to bring together all Cameroonians living and working in Denmark to organise and carry out cultural activities reflecting the Cameroonian heritage as well as social and sporting activities. We celebrate with one another in times of joy and lean on each other in sad moments. As a diaspora organisation, ACAD also carry out development and humanitarian projects in Cameroon.
